Let’s hear it for me time!

Here, we’ll discuss that all too-important, but also all-too illusive and sad to say guilt-inducing me time.

We’ve all heard the airplane instructions, about how if shit goes down, we’ve gotta first put that mask on ourselves before we can help anyone else. That’s so true in life. If we’re not healthy inside and out, then we’ve got nothing to give our loved ones.

Imagine yourself traveling across a desert with the sun beaming down on you. And you’re oh so thirsty. All you have is a water bottle filled about half-way. Suddenly, you come across someone in need. They’re practically dying of thirst themselves. How on earth can you help this person, if you didn’t already have a little water in your bottle to begin with?

That’s all I’m sayin’. From this moment on, let’s pledge to ourselves that we prioritize taking care of us first, so that we can in turn, take care of our loved ones. Let’s do this!

Behind the Me time

Hi, I’m Lauren

One of my favorite times of day is unapologetically bed time. When it’s dark and quiet and I know I’m about to lay my head down on my very well-researched pillow (more on that later), it puts a smile on my face. Nightly, I put my ear plugs in and my eye mask on and sigh happily because the time has finally come for me to unplug, unwind and get some much needed shut-eye. Together, let’s get the best sleep of our lives. Because we don’t only need it. We deserve it.
