Happy Valentine’s Day!
Hello World!
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m so glad you’re here. Thank you so much for visiting my page! I decided to start this blog because I wanted to share my life experiences with you, my friends. We’re gonna talk about any and everything. From skincare tips, to organization tips to meal planning tips, and so much more. Everything that has to do with a stay at home mom’s world can be found right here.
And to start, since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d share with you what my plans are this year with my honey. But before we get into that, let’s go back to where it all began.
I met my husband at The University of Georgia all the way back in the year 1999. I was an incoming freshman and he was an Orientation Leader. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I actually saw him prior to orientation at a ‘you totally need to come to our school,’ thing where he spoke about his life as a freshman. I remember watching him speak and whispering to my mother, “Mom, when I go here, I want to meet (or let’s face it, marry) a guy just like that.” And that’s exactly what I did. Why? He was smart. He was ambitious. And boy was he handsome! Plus we loved each other oh so much. Yep, love. That’s what got me. 🙂
Just reminiscing about this has made me remember why I’d like nothing more than to spend this romantic holiday with my sweetie. We’re getting Mexican food (my favorite) in Atlanta for lunch. Why just lunch? Well, the kids will be at school and alas, Tuesday is still a school night. And I don’t even want to think about how much babysitters would cost on a holiday like this. So lunch it is. Which I’m totally fine with. Besides, the kiddies have to go to sleep at some point. 😉
I’ve been married for 20 blissful years now. Can you believe it?! Here’s to 20 more!
Tips to make your Valentine’s Day extra special:
- Don’t forget to kiss your sweetie good morning and tell him/her one thing you adore about them.
- Surprise your sweetie with something. It doesn’t have to be anything major. You could just do something sweet, like rub their shoulders, or let them pick the show you’ll watch together that day. The idea here is to think – “what would I like my partner to do for me?” … and then do that for your partner.
- And finally, if you are able to give them something, try buying them something they’ve had their eye on but won’t go out and purchase themselves (within your budget of course). Or if cooking is more your forte, try something easy like this. My family can’t get enough of this chili. And I know you may be thinking, “What does chili have to do with V-day?” Honey, chili is an everyday dish with an added bonus of being a balanced meal in one bowl. ‘Nuff said!
No limits here. Let your imagination go wild! Happy Valentine’s Day!
