Best Places to Eat in North Georgia

Now, if you know me, you’ll know that I absolutely LOVE Mexican food. It is my absolute favorite. There’s something about meat and cheese wrapped in flour and topped with more cheese and sauce and guac and sour cream… Is your mouth watering yet? Wooo! I love it. I love to eat, cook and enjoy all things Mexican food, but I do have my favorites. Keep reading for my recommendations on some great spots in Northern Georgia to satisfy your Mexican food craving.
My favorite thing to order here is the beef empanadas. Now, I’ve tried their chicken ones, but the beef ones are far superior. Good dipping sauce too. And they have an excellent Baja Wrapped Burrio. Yum!
They have two locations that I know of and I’ve been to both of them in Suwanee and the new one in Buford. The Buford location even has a cute upstairs outdoor area and they’re open ’til midnight on the weekends in case you’re looking for late night eats (well, late night for North Georgia restaurants).
La Tapatia Supermercado
This is a small hole in the wall Dacula establishment that doubles as a restaurant and supermarket, and man, do their burritos, quesadillas and guac never disappoint. It’s hands down the best guacamole I’ve ever had. Lunchtime? Yes please!
I’ve only been to the one in Lawrenceville. Excellent enchiladas. Hits the spot every time. Plus they have a nice outdoor seating area. Muy Bueno!
Now I loves me some Italian food too. There’s something about cheese and pasta and tomato sauce that just gets the stomach rumbling, but in a good way. Am I right? Can you tell I’m hungry? I should probably eat lunch soon.
They’re located in a small shopping center across from Walmart in Buford. They have the best pizza in town, hands down. Plus I absolutely love their Stromboli and Greek salad. Yes, yes, and more yes!
Caprese New York Pizza & Pasta
This spot in Dacula has some good pizza too, a little greasier than Italy’s Pizza & Pasta, but still good. You also can’t go wrong with their Chicken Parmesan. Enthusiastic thumbs up!
Asian food isn’t my favorite kind of food, but my husband LOVES it. And it’s not like I don’t like Asian food, I do. It’s just that whenever I’m asked “What are you in the mood for?” My answer will always and forever be, “Mexican!” But that’s just me. So if you’ve got a taste for Asian food, I’d recommend the following.
This Dacula spot is located in the same shopping center as a Publix. Excellent pot stickers. You can’t go wrong with their Hibachi grill menu. Delicious Mongolian Chicken. This restaurant is a solid choice, plus their customer service is on point.
If you’re in the mood for sushi, this spot has some dope choices. Fresh, tasty. Can’t go wrong.
There are many many more spots in the area that are quite good, but listing them all would take a really long time. And since there’s more than just Mexican, Italian and Asian food out there, I’ll simply list some solid choices below.
